The Sky Bet EFL agreement represents the largest title sponsorship in EFL history. Sky Bet have been a key partner since first sponsoring the EFL in 2013/14. They have played a significant part in supporting the growth of the League and its competitions over the course of the relationship.
In 2018, Sky Bet launched a new five-year commitment to responsible gambling as the two parties announced a deal that ensured the sports gaming company would continue as headline sponsor of the Sky Bet EFL. And in the summer of 2023, the EFL and Sky Bet agreed a record five-year partnership extension that will see the sports betting and gaming company continue as the League’s title partner until the end of the 2028/29 campaign.
The Sky Bet partnership represents one of the longest and most significant in UK professional sport. Under the new extension, the partnership will continue to be built around safer gambling, including a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that sets out how to deliver joint objectives in a socially responsible way. The MoU will continue to put the protection of children and other vulnerable individuals at its heart, with both the EFL and Sky Bet making a renewed commitment to its approach in the promotion of the product.
In 2023/24, Sky Bet and the EFL launched the Building Foundations Fund to breathe new life into grassroots and community football projects across England and Wales
The Fund commits £6million over a six-year period for all 72 EFL Clubs to bid for grants to invest in ongoing programmes or to develop new initiatives, and represents the largest multi-year sponsor-backed fund dedicated solely to community activity.
