Centre-back: Fraser Horsfall (Stockport) - 7.58 rating

No team collected more points than Stockport (13) in League Two last month, with centre-back Fraser Horsfall doing enough to make the best XI. Horsfall won the third most aerial duels (45) in League Two and ranked fifth for clearances (39) in September to contribute towards a WhoScored.com rating of 7.58.

Centre-back: Mickey Demetriou (Crewe) - 7.52 rating

Mickey Demetriou was excellent in front of goal for Crewe in September having been directly involved in three goals last month, assisting two. The 33-year-old also reinforced a statistically calculated WhoScored.com strength of 'aerial duels' as he won 32 headed battles, the eighth most, to help land a rating of 7.52.

Centre-back: Anthony O'Connor (Harrogate) - 7.49 rating

Having made more clearances (44) than any other player, Anthony O'Connor rounds off the defence. O'Connor was also dominant in the air having ranked seventh for aerial duels won (34) last month. All in all, the Harrogate centre-back deserved his place in the XI with a WhoScored.com rating of 7.49.

Right midfield: James Tilley (Wimbledon) - 7.66 rating

Wimbledon scored the fifth most goals in League Two in September, with James Tilley key for the south London side last month. Tilley was directly involved in four of Wimbledon's 12 goals, netting three times.
