After a dismal performance against Norwich the previous week, Jack Rudoni made amends with a player of the match showing at West Brom. The 22-year-old bagged a late winner at Hawthorns, netting with one of two shots. 4. Trai Hume (Sunderland) - 8.42 rating

Sunderland unsurprisingly dominate the Championship team of the week following their resounding 5-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, with Trai Hume the first of three Black Cats representatives in the top five rundown. 2. Asmir Begovic (QPR) - 8.88 rating

QPR earned an impressive 2-0 win at Middlesbrough on Saturday, and they have Asmir Begovic to thank for securing all the spoils at the Riverside. Indeed, the experienced shotstopper made nine saves to keep the Boro offensive at bay as Begovic helped QPR to just their second league win of the season and a WhoScored.com rating of 8.88.

1. Pierre Ekwah (Sunderland) - 9.73 rating

With a WhoScored.com rating of 9.73, Sunderland midfielder Pierre Ekwah is the Championship player of the week. The youngster netted his first and second league goals for the club in the first half against Saints, getting the better of Gavin Bazunu with both shots on home turf. Ekwah protected the Sunderland defence well, too, as he chipped in with four tackles, three interceptions and two clearances in a superb showing.
