Goalkeeper: Illan Meslier (Leeds) - 8.04 rating

Leeds secured a statement 3-0 win at Millwall on Sunday, with Illan Meslier crucial for the Whites between the sticks. The young Frenchman was on hand to make three saves at the Den to keep a clean sheet and return a WhoScored.com rating of 8.04.

Right-back: Sorba Thomas (Huddersfield) - 8.26 rating

After a rocky start to the season, Huddersfield made it back-to-back wins with a 2-0 victory over Rotherham on Saturday. Sorba Thomas was one of the Terriers' star performers having been directly involved in both goals, following up his assist for Josh Koroma with a goal midway through the second half. Those came from respective returns of four key passes and one shot to help Thomas to a WhoScored.com rating of 8.26.

Centre-back: Frazer Blake-Tracy (Swindon) - 8.68 rating

Having been involved in an eight-goal thriller the previous week, Swindon kept things tight this time around as they secured a 2-0 win over Walsall. Frazer Blake-Tracy was the star performer at the County Ground having returned a WhoScored.com rating of 8.68. The 28-year-old won nine aerial duels, and chipped in with three clearances, two interceptions and one tackle in a superb showing.

Centre-back: Connor Taylor (Bristol Rovers) - 8.54 rating

Partnering Blake-Tracy at the heart of the defence is Bristol Rovers centre-back Connor Taylor. The Pirates earned an impressive 2-0 win at Shrewsbury over the weekend, with Taylor good value for his player of the match award. Indeed, the 21-year-old provided the assist for Aaron Collins' late strike to wrap up the three points, while nine aerial duels won, four tackles and two clearances contributed towards a WhoScored.com rating of 8.54.

Left-back: Josh Koroma (Huddersfield) - 8.83 rating

Rounding off the defence is Huddersfield's Josh Koroma after he put in a player of the match shift against Rotherham. Like teammate Thomas, Koroma was also directly involved in both goals at the weekend, putting the Terriers ahead in the 18th minute and then turning provider for Thomas with 20 minutes to play. Four shots, two dribbles and one key pass helped the 24-year-old to a WhoScored.com rating of 8.83.

Central midfield: Elliot Lee (Wrexham) - 9.16 rating

Wrexham's Elliot Lee is the EFL player of the week having earned a WhoScored.com rating of 9.16 in Saturday's 3-0 win over Grimsby. Lee was directly involved in two of the Red Dragons' three goals, following up his assist for Ollie Palmer's opener with a goal in the 79th minute. That assist came from one of five key passes, while his only shot got the better of Jake Eastwood. With four dribbles to his name, the 28-year-old put in a performance to remember.

Central midfield: Sammie Szmodics (Blackburn) - 9.05 rating

Sammie Szmodics was key as Blackburn beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at Ewood Park on Saturday. Indeed, the 27-year-old bagged goals number three and four for the season either side of half time, hitting the back of the net with two of four shots. Szmodics was unfortunate not to register an assist, too, having made five key passes to land a WhoScored.com rating of 9.05.

Central midfield: Tommy Leigh (Accrington) 8.73 rating

Accrington eased to a 4-1 win over Sutton United on Saturday, with Tommy Leigh the star of the show. Leigh bagged a brace at the Wham Stadium, scoring with two of three shots. The 23-year-old put in a shift off the ball, too, having made four clearances, one tackle and one interception to round off the midfield with a WhoScored.com rating of 8.73.

Right wing: James Tilley (Wimbledon) - 8.48 rating

Wimbledon were unable to hold out for all the spoils against Crewe over the weekend having thrown away a two-goal lead, but James Tilley was the star of the show regardless having returned a WhoScored.com rating of 8.48. Tilley scored Wimbledon's second from one of six shots, and he was a menace for the Crewe backline having completed three dribbles and made two key passes.

Striker: Georginio Rutter (Leeds) - 8.92 rating

The star performer from Leeds' 3-0 win at Millwall leads the charge in the EFL team of the week. Georginio Rutter earned a WhoScored.com rating of 8.92 in the capital on Sunday having directly contributed to two of Leeds' three goals. Rutter provided the assist for Joel Piroe's opener with just 15 minutes on the clock, and then got on the scoresheet himself in the 81st minute as he shone at the Den.

Left wing: Jack Clarke (Sunderland) - 9.00 rating

Completing the XI is Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, whose superb showing at QPR on Saturday saw him yield a WhoScored.com rating of 9.00. The 22-year-old bagged his third goal of the season on the stroke of half time, scoring with one of two shots, and finished the game with four dribbles, four key passes and three tackles to his name.
