The January nominations for the Sky Bet Championship Goal of the Month Award are:
Finn Azaz – PLYMOUTH ARGYLE v Watford – 1st January
Watching the ball drop to him from a headed clearance, Azaz raised the level of difficulty of his volley by opting to side-foot it. His timing was as impeccable as it appeared effortless.
Ismael Kone – Plymouth Argyle v WATFORD – 1st January
Watford created a geometric pattern outside the area before Kone played a one-two with Giorgi Chakvetadze and then sent the ball spinning unerringly into the far corner of the net.
Jon Rowe – Hull City v NORWICH CITY – 12th January
Rowe’s goal was a mixture of determination to drive forward after winning the ball in midfield and the most exquisite balance to steer the ball into the corner off the outside of his right boot.
Ben Sheaf – Sheffield Wednesday v COVENTRY CITY – 20th January
As the ball was played into him on the edge of the area, Sheaf was aware he was being closed down from behind. The deftest of quick turns later, he was curling home from 20 yards.

The January nominations for the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month Award are:
Jonny Smith – Barnsley v WIGAN ATHLETIC – 1st January
Whatever the Barnsley defenders were expecting from a Wigan free-kick, it definitely wasn’t this extravagantly looped shot from Smith which dipped with perfect timing into the top corner.
Chris Martin – BRISTOL ROVERS v Blackpool – 20th January
Imagination is not limited by age. As the ball headed in Martin’s direction, the 35-year-old sized up his options, took an extra step forward and executed a genius of a back-heeled lob.
James Collins – DERBY COUNTY v Cheltenham Town – 27th January
Expecting a far-post cross, Collins re-adjusted his run perfectly, dropping back towards the penalty spot before allowing the ball to meet the sweetly-timed arc of his swinging right foot.
Zac Ashworth –– Carlisle United v BOLTON WANDERERS – 27th January
Sometimes, timing is all you need. It would have been easy for Ashworth to lash at a diagonal pass dropping into his path, but he opted for cushioned poise and precision over pure power.

The January nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month Award are:
Paul Mullin – WREXHAM v Barrow – 1st January
Barrow keeper Paul Farman was confident he had his near post covered as Mullin lined up his free-kick. He reckoned without the extraordinary power and placement of Mullin’s strike.
Abraham Odoh – HARROGATE TOWN v Doncaster Rovers – 6th January
Odoh was a blur of perpetual motion as he sprinted from halfway inside his own half to collect a pass, cut back onto his right foot and sent an unstoppable searing drive into the top corner.
Arthur Read – Morecambe v COLCHESTER UNITED – 27th January
The arc on Read’s free-kick would have had aeronautical engineers drooling, so perfectly did he flight the ball over the Morecambe wall before dropping it inside the angle of post and bar.
Donovan Daniels – WALSALL v Sutton United – 27th January
Not content with threading a pass into the Sutton area, central defender Daniels joined in the attack, double-backed and performed the silkiest of side-steps before finding the far corner.
