Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino emphasised the "massive chance" his Blues side have been presented with ahead of this weekend's Carabao Cup Final.

The 51-year-old, who came close to winning this competition with Tottenham Hotspur in 2015, is eyeing a first trophy in English football.

Here is what he had to say ahead of Sunday's showdown...

On the possibility of lifting a trophy in England:

"It means a lot for us - the coaching staff - to have the possibility to arrive in the Final and challenge a team like Liverpool to win our first title here in 11 years. It's a dream for us. We have the possibility and we have 90 minutes to achieve that. We are going to fight, the team is ready; it's a massive chance for us.

"For me, Wembley is like home because we played a lot here with Tottenham. We created a very good bond between Wembley and the team. For sure, it's going to be special to play there and to win there. We are going to give our best to be better than Liverpool and deserve to win the trophy."

On previous meetings with Liverpool in the Premier League:

"It's true that this is different. It's never the same approach playing in the Premier League and in the Final. You always learn from the games you play. Of course, we arrive in this game with different circumstances and it is difficult to compare and say that it will have influence in the games that we played in the past."

On his side's form this season so far:

"To be more mature in this type of process, you need this type of thing to happen. You need to wake up and realise when you experience some moments, you have the possibility to be different and behave different. The team always needs to learn from the good and not so good performances.

"For us it was a positive. Maybe that was good for us, to feel the pain and negative situations, and to be stronger now and to find the way to compete better and to start to see that we need to live in a different way."

On this weekend's opposition:

"For me, Liverpool are favourites because they have the experience to compete like a team and be involved in different finals. For many of our players, it's maybe their first final, so that's why I'd make them favourite.

"He's (Klopp) one of the best, with Pep, coaches in the world. He's clever enough. He knows that when you play a final, circumstances can happen. If they are not favourites, we are not favourites. They have experience to compete like a team and be involved in different finals."
