Ipswich claimed a fourth league win on the spin to remain on the coattails of Leeds in the automatic promotion race as they beat Birmingham 3-1. Axel Tuanzebe was the star player in the home victory having earned a WhoScored.com rating of 8.81. Tuanzebe made seven interceptions in the win, that a record in a Championship match this season.

Centre-back: Japhet Tanganga (Millwall) - 8.89 rating

Millwall ended a seven-game winless streak with a fine 2-1 win at Southampton to keep their head above water in the battle to beat the drop. Centre-back: Carl Piergianni (Stevenage) - 9.21 rating

Carl Piergianni won his seventh player of the match award of the season as Stevenage beat Wycombe 1-0 on Saturday. Piergianni scored what proved to be the winning goal in the first half, netting with one of two efforts, while 10 aerial wins, nine clearances, three interceptions and three tackles saw the 31-year-old land a WhoScored.com rating of 9.21.

Left-back: Rio Adebisi (Crewe) - 8.11 rating

Crewe extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 3-1 win at Notts County with Rio Adebisi on hand to register his sixth and sevenths assists of the season. The 23-year-old's brace of assists came from three key passes, while four tackles, four clearances and two interceptions saw the youngster return a WhoScored.com rating of 8.11.

Right midfield: Alan Browne (Preston) - 8.51 rating

Alan Browne was the star performer in Preston's win at Coventry having earned a WhoScored.com rating of 8.51. Browne registered an assist with his only key pass, while five interceptions and two tackles capped a fine showing.

Central midfield: Davis Keillor-Dunn (Mansfield) - 9.11 rating

The star player from Mansfield's 5-1 win over Salford, Davis Keillor-Dunn was directly involved in two of five goals at the One Call Stadium as he followed his assist for Baily Cargill's strike with a goal of his own in the 57th minute. Those came from respective returns of eight key passes and six shots.

Central midfield: Daniel Kemp (MK Dons) - 8.56 rating

MK Dons maintained their promotion push with a solid 3-0 win over Newport in front of their own fans on Saturday, with Daniel Kemp key. Kemp was directly involved in two of three goals, netting with one of two shots and providing the assist for Jack Payne's strike midway through the first half with one of three key passes to help the 25-year-old to a WhoScored.com rating of 8.56.

Left midfield: Jordan Shipley (Shrewsbury) - 8.21 rating

Jordan Shipley was directly involved in all three goals as Shrewsbury beat Reading 3-2 on Saturday. Striker: Jake Beesley (Blackpool) - 9.06 rating

Blackpool made it back-to-back wins in a resounding 4-0 victory over promotion chasing Barnsley. Jake Beesley netted twice against the Trotters, getting the better of Joel Coleman with two of three shots. The 27-year-old also won four aerial duels in what proved to be his best rated performance of the campaign.

Striker: Ike Ugbo (Sheffield Wednesday) - 8.59 rating

Ike Ugbo maintained his impressive form following his arrival from Troyes last month, bagging his fourth and fifth league goals for the Owls as Sheffield Wednesday claimed a solid 2-1 win over Bristol City. Ukbo netted with two of four shots, and made two key passes to secure his spot in the EFL team of the week.
