5. Chris Martin (Bristol Rovers) - xG Overperformance of 5.78

Bristol Rovers striker Chris Martin takes the title of League One’s most efficient finisher so far this season, having netted 15 goals from an expected figure of 9.22. Martin’s xG per 90 of 0.46 is up there with the division’s highest, while his xG per shot of 0.21 ranks 15th.

4. Jonathan Rowe (Norwich) - xG Overperformance of 6.36

Norwich star Jonathan Rowe takes fourth in this list having exceeded his xG by more than six goals this season. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a breakout campaign, with an impressive 12 goals scored thus far, while his lower xG per shot of 0.10 would suggest that his attempts are low quality, but seemingly finding the target more often than not.

3. Morgan Whittaker (Plymouth) - xG Overperformance of 7.27

The Championship’s most clinical finisher with an Expected Goals overperformance of more than seven goals, is Plymouth’s Morgan Whittaker. The 23-year-old has notched 17 goals so far this season, though would have been expected to have scored just 10. Whittaker has taken more shots (129) than any other player in the Championship this season, though the quality of those attempts are the lowest (0.08) of any player in this top five.

2. Will Evans (Newport) - xG Overperformance of 7.27

Newport’s Will Evans earns second place in this list, and in League Two, having overperformed his xG total by a whopping 7.27 goals. Evans, whose 20 goals this season see him third in the division’s scoring charts, generates 0.39 xG per 90, on average.

1. Daniel Crowley (Notts County) - xG Overperformance of 8.07

Notts County midfielder Daniel Crowley takes top spot, having scored a huge eight goals more than expected of him so far this term. The 26-year-old has, remarkably, found the net with nearly half of his shots on goal (13 of 31), but his xG per shot of 0.16 would suggest that the chances he is converting are often not easy.
