Sky Bet League Two: Manager & Player of the Month February winners

The winners of the Sky Bet League Two Manager and Player of the Month Awards for February are:

Manager of the Month: Nigel Clough

Mansfield Town manager Nigel Clough has been named the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for February.

With 90 attempts on goal, 28 of them in the 5-1 win over Salford, a 9-2 demolition of Harrogate and 20 goals scored in five games while collecting 12 points, the consistency of Clough’s side deservedly saw them take over top spot in League Two.

Clough said: “I’m proud of our performances in the month of February, scoring 20 goals and reaching the top spot in Sky Bet League Two.

“We’ve had a good month which has included the return of our defender Elliott Hewitt following nine months out with an ACL injury.

“The award is nice but is nothing in comparison to that.”

Player of the Month: Hakeeb Adelakun

Doncaster Rovers winger Hakeeb Adelakun has been named the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month for February.

Having arrived in January, Adelakun has fitted in seamlessly with his new team, scoring three goals in five games, all of them winners. His willingness to run with the ball also brought four fine assists, three of them in the 5-1 win at Grimsby.

Doncaster Rovers manager Grant McCann said: "The impact that Haks has made since his arrival has been tremendous and he is fully deserving of the recognition.

“You want players to hit the ground running when they come in and, having worked with him before, we were confident that he would do that.

"He's been a big part of our recent run of results and we're pleased to have him on board."

Adelakun said: “It’s exactly what you want to happen when you join a club - just to get going straight away. It’s been great for me and it’s about continuing that now.

"I'm delighted to have won this award. It's the first one I've had in my career and it's special that it's come at a time when we've been on a really good run of results.

“There’s a good buzz around the place. We all see things coming together, the patterns of play that we’ve been working on, they’re coming out and it’s great to see."
