Chesterfield have returned to the EFL after a six-season absence by clinching the National League title and promotion to Sky Bet League Two with a 3-0 win over Boreham Wood.
The Spireites buried the disappointment of last season's Play-Off Final loss to Notts County by cruising to promotion this time around, confirming they will finish top of the pile with five games to spare.
Chesterfield suffered back-to-back relegations in 2017 and 2018 to drop out of the English Football League for the first time since 1921. The Club's pursuit of a return to the EFL has included three consecutive failed Play-Off campaigns in the last three seasons, but this term, they have secured automatic promotion back to the EFL.
