Sheffield United registered their first home league win since December 2023 after a narrow 1-0 victory over Watford at Bramall Lane.

An own goal from Hornets keeper Daniel Bachmann inside the first two minutes proved to be enough for the Blades, keeping up their unbeaten start and ending the visitors 100% record in the process.

Callum O’Hare was the architect; dribbling into the area before seeing his cut-back deflect off Bachmann and creep over the line.

Watford's shot-stopper redeemed himself on 16 minutes however, denying Kieffer Moore from the spot after Ollie Arblaster was brought down.

His heroics did not manage to spur Tom Cleverley's side on to a comeback though, Ryan Andrews coming closest in the second half as he struck the post from distance.

The result sees Chris Wilder's men climb to eighth position in the Sky Bet Championship standings, with two wins and two draws from their opening four fixtures.
