Kicking off the EFL Team of the Week is Rotherham shot-stopper Dillon Phillips after a fine showing between the sticks in Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Huddersfield. Indeed, Phillips made seven saves and two high ball claims to earn a WhoScored.com rating of 8.27.
Right-back: Cameron Norman (Tranmere) – 9.00 rating
Tranmere extended their unbeaten home run to four games with a 1-0 win over Carlisle, a victory in which Cameron Norman was the star performer. Norman picked the perfect time to score his first league goal of the season, netting with one of two shots, while five dribbles and four key passes saw the 29-year-old earn a WhoScored.com rating of 9.00.
Centre-back: Luke McNally (Bristol City) – 8.59 rating
With a WhoScored.com rating of 8.59, Luke McNally is good value for his inclusion in the EFL Team of the Week. Bristol City extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 1-0 win over Derby, with McNally on hand to score his third league goal of the season with his only effort. The 25-year-old also won five aerial duels and made 10 clearances in a superb rearguard showing.
Centre-back: Anthony O'Connor (Harrogate) – 8.93 rating
Anthony O’Connor was the star performer as Harrogate claimed a fine 2-0 win at Barrow on Saturday, with the 32-year-old on hand to register his first league assist of the season. That came from O’Connor’s only key pass, while the 32-year-old also managed to make 24 clearances to land a WhoScored.com rating of 8.93.
Left-back: Jack Currie (Leyton Orient) – 8.51 rating
Jack Currie won his third WhoScored.com Player of the Match award of the season in Leyton Orient’s 1-0 win over Shrewsbury. Currie got forward well having completed three dribbles and created two goalscoring chances. His work off the ball was key as the 22-year-old managed six tackles, six clearances and two interceptions in a clean-sheet-attaining display.
Right midfield: Connor Jennings (Tranmere) – 8.33 rating
It’s an all-Tranmere right side in the EFL Team of the Week with Connor Jennings making the cut with a WhoScored.com rating of 8.33. The 33-year-old did all he could to help his side in the final third, making two key passes and two successful dribbles, excelling out of possession. He made five tackles, three interceptions and two clearances.
Central midfield: Amankwah Forson (Norwich) – 8.15 rating
Amankwah Forson was introduced in the 84th minute of Norwich’s welcome of Coventry but was decisive for the Canaries having netted twice late on to secure all the spoils at Carrow Road. The Ghanaian youngster’s brace came from three shots as Forson earned a WhoScored.com rating of 8.15.
Central midfield: George Abbott (Notts County) – 8.09 rating
The first of two Notts County players in the side partners Forson in the middle of the park. George Abbott provided his second league assist of the season in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Swindon, that coming from the teenager’s only key pass, and made five tackles and two interceptions to contribute towards his inclusion.
Left midfield: Shaun Whalley (Accrington) – 9.03 rating
Shaun Whalley made it three goals in two appearances in 2025 with a brace in Accrington’s 2-0 win at Colchester on Saturday. Whalley struck with two of four shots, while the experienced winger also managed two key passes and two successful dribbles to justify a WhoScored.com rating of 9.03.
Striker: David McGoldrick (Notts County) – 9.31 rating
With a WhoScored.com rating of 9.31, David McGoldrick is the EFL Player of the Week. The Notts County striker bagged a first-half brace in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Swindon, netting with two of 10 shots.
The 37-year-old was unfortunate not to add an assist having made three key passes, while three dribbles and two aerial wins contributed towards a memorable afternoon for the experienced forward.
Striker: Omar Bogle (Crewe) – 9.07 rating
Omar Bogle netted his fourth and fifth league goals of the season as Crewe smashed Bromley 4-1 at home on Sunday. Bogle’s brace came from three shots, while the striker also won five aerial duels to help earn a WhoScored.com rating of 9.07.
