Vertu Trophy - Round of 16

Rounding off the night's action was the penultimate Round of 16 clash between Leyton Orient and Stevenage in the Vertu Trophy. The sides faced off at the Gaughan Group Stadium knowing the winner would face Birmingham City in the Quarter Finals next month.

It was an open start to the game, with Leyton Orient having plenty of the ball but failing to find that last bit of quality needed in the final third. Stevenage grabbed the game's only goal from a corner, the ball deflecting off Orient defender Brandon Cooper and into the back of the net.

Stevenage almost made it two in the second half but were denied by Josh Keeley's fingertip save.

Leyton Orient came close in the dying moments, denied by the crossbar to see Stevenage advance and end Orient's 12 game unbeaten run.
