Former Tottenham Hotspur coach Ryan Mason has landed his first senior permanent managerial position after being confirmed as the new West Bromwich Albion boss this week.
The 33-year-old has had a rollercoaster journey into management after an abrupt end to his playing career due to a serious head injury he suffered while playing for Hull City.
After initially coaching in the Spurs academy, he quickly progressed to working in the first team under Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and more recently Ange Postecoglou.
In 2021, he stepped into the hot seat as caretaker manager at the Lilywhites following the sacking of Mourinho.
This led to him taking charge of the Carabao Cup Final and becoming the youngest head coach in the competition's history.
He remained in charge until the end of the Premier League season after earning respect from within the Club for his work in developing young players and his deep understanding of Spurs’ culture.

His first game - a victory of Southampton in the league - showed promise, but he was then tasked with defeating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the cup Final, a team chasing their fourth consecutive Carabao Cup crown.
Spurs were already heading into the match without the injured Harry Kane and struggled to create clear-cut chances against a dominant City.
In the end, Ameyric Laporte’s decisive goal in the 82nd minute sealed a 1-0 victory for Guardiola’s men.
While his brief tenure as Spurs head coach didn’t end in glory, he helped guide the club to their first major trophy in 17 years this season as Postecoglou’s assistant when they triumphed in the Europa League over Manchester United.
Now, he’s ended his seven-year spell and will be looking to bring success to West Bromwich Albion, who will be targeting a top-six finish in next season’s Sky Bet Championship and potential promotion to the Premier League.
Upon his appointment as Baggies boss, he said: "This is a huge club with a fantastic infrastructure and an incredible fanbase, and I am excited about what we can achieve together."Having spoken at length to the board and those at the Club, I am convinced that Albion is the perfect place for me to be, and I can't wait to get started.
"I will bring with me a huge amount of enthusiasm, dedication and ambition, and look forward to a positive future together at such a fantastic club."
