Norwich City missed the chance to close in on the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off places after being held to a 1-1 draw by Oxford United at Carrow Road.

The hosts took an early lead in the 5th minute when Josh Sargent tapped in Kellen Fisher’s cross from close range.

However, Oxford equalised in the 18th minute as Mark Harris capitalized on a long throw from Will Vaulks, firing past debutant goalkeeper Vicente Reyes.

Despite controlling possession and territory, Norwich created few clear chances.

Their best opportunity came in the final minute when Borja Sainz was denied by a sharp save from Oxford’s Jamie Cumming.

The result leaves Norwich two points outside the play-off spots, while Oxford’s point could prove valuable in their fight against relegation.
