While Blackburn were growing in popularity, the game was also breaking records of its own having become an increasingly attractive career pathway for women and girls.

Football wasn’t only seeing a rise in women working at entry level, however, as more and more were catapulting through the ranks, successfully working their way towards management and executive positions.

Julianna said: “Lynsey Talbot started at the Club six years or so after I started, and I’ve seen her work her way up to Head of Operations, and she’s doing an absolutely fantastic job.

“A lot of our senior management positions are held by women. Our current owner is female, and it fills my heart with joy to see that in the men’s game.

“The fact that there’s more women today, even at higher levels, is really exciting. Women’s football has journeyed from nothing to everything.”

The women’s football fever that swept the nation following the Lionesses success at the Euros three years ago may have changed the trajectory of participation and the sheer number of aspiring professional footballers, yes, but it also lent to the growing fascination of one day working in the business side of the game.

Thanks to individuals like Julianna and Lynsey, many young girls have role models they can aspire to, and for Juliana’s daughter, she merely needed look inside her own home.

“My advice to any women who want to work in the game is to go for it,” advised Julianna. “My daughter followed in her mother’s footsteps and joined the Club 12 months ago and she’s loving every minute.

“It’s a fantastic industry to work in and I would recommend it to anybody.”
