EFL Round Up: Leeds United held at QPR and Tranmere Rovers secure shock win

Saturday's EFL action saw drama from across all three divisions, with battles to avoid the drop and earn promotion heating up. Catch up on all the top talking points below.

Sky Bet Championship

League leaders Leeds United failed to extend their lead at the top of the table after a surprising 2-2 draw away to Queens Park Rangers.

The result means that Burnley move to within two points of the Sky Bet Championship summit, while Sheffield United have the opportunity to move level with the Whites if they win the Steel City derby on Sunday.

In the fight to make the Play-Offs, Coventry City grabbed a convincing 3-0 win over Sunderland thanks to a hat-trick from Hadji Wright, and West Bromwich Albion's point at home to Hull City proved enough to keep them in the top six.

At the other end of the table there was a huge bottom three clash between Plymouth Argyle and Derby County.

Two Marcus Harness goals boosted the Rams' survival chances as they nicked a 3-2 victory at Home Park. John Eustace's side are now just one point from safety, with Cardiff City and Stoke City all looking over their shoulders.

Sky Bet League One

In Sky Bet League One, leaders Birmingham City could only manage a 1-1 draw away to Northampton Town, although the gap at the summit still stands at 14 points.

Wrexham picked up a big win away to second-place Wycombe Wanderers in the race for automatic promotion, the Red Dragons are now level on points with the Chairboys but remain third on goal difference.

A 2-1 win for Mansfield Town over Barnsley sees them move further away from the drop zone, with the gap between 21st-placed Burton Albion and safety now eight points.

Huddersfield Town earned a big three points with an emphatic 5-1 thrashing of Crawley Town. The win leaves them just two points behind the Play-Off places and Bolton Wanderers in sixth.

Sky Bet League Two

In Sky Bet League Two, the biggest result of the day came in West Yorkshire as relegation battling Tranmere Rovers recorded a shock 1-0 victory away to promotion chasing Bradford City.

Josh Hawkes scored the only goal at Valley Parade from the penalty spot to extend Rovers' unbeaten run under interim manager Andy Crosby.

Elsewhere, AFC Wimbledon secured a vital victory against bottom-side Carlisle at Brunton Park.

The Dons took the lead in the second minute through Callum Maycock and Alistair Smith doubled their advantage just after the break. Carlisle pulled one back but couldn't find the equaliser.

They remain in the automatic promotion places on goal difference, with Doncaster Rovers a place behind.

It was a day for upsets, as Tom Naylor's late finish stunned promotion-chasing Notts County with Chesterfield also winning at Meadow Lane.
