Tuesday night's three Vertu Trophy Group Stage ties delivered a remarkable NINETEEN goals between them.

Stevenage capped off a flawless group stage campaign with their third win from three, beating Crystal Palace U21 5-2 thanks to a brace from Phoenix Patterson and goals from Jovan Malcom, Lewis Orford and a Harry Lee own goal. Boro comfortably top their group and book a place in the knockout stages.

There was also a 5-2 win for Barnsley, coming from behind to overcome Manchester United U21. The evergreen David McGoldrick hit his fourth career hat-trick at the age of 37 to help his side past a talented Manchester United outfit.

Britt Assombalonga marked his return to the EFL with a goal and an assist, just a day after signing for Barnet. The 32 year-old's contributions helped his new club come from behind to snatch a 3-2 win over Cambridge United, Emmanuel Osadebe netting the 90th minute winner for the Bees.
