Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan's second-half header was the difference as Reading claimed a much-needed win over Northampton Town on Tuesday night.

In the evening's only Sky Bet League One fixture, Reading looked to put their poor start to the season behind them against a Northampton Town side that have settled in mid-table early on.

The goalkeepers were the stars of the show in the first-half, both called into action to keep the scores level. Northampton goalkeeper Ross Fitzsimons made smart saves to deny O'Connor, Wing and Kyerewaa as the Royals looked to take advantage of their dominance.

They eventually got their reward in the 65th minute when Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan met Paddy Lane's cross with a brilliant header from the penalty spot, beating Fitzimons and taking Reading to just their second win of the season.
