Leyton Orient forward Dom Ballard has been named the EA Sports FC Young Player of the Month for March after an outstanding month.

The 21-year-old is currently leading the Sky Bet League One Golden Boot race and registered six goal contributions across the month, including a stunning hat-trick against AFC Wimbledon.

After struggling while out on loan last season, Ballard has really found form, and while he is relishing the accolades that come alongside it, he's firmly focused on carrying the momentum through until the end of the campaign.

"It's another achievement this year that I'm very happy with. When you're scoring goals and having the season I'm having, these things come, but it's just about trying to build on that," he explains.

"When the team is doing well, it means it's easier for me to score goals, and when I score, the team wins games."

"I knew I was capable of doing what I'm doing, but I would say how quickly it's changed and how many I've scored and the manner in which it has probably exceeded my expectations.

"I've scored goals at every level I've played at, so it's been a long time coming."

Ballard has also been shortlisted at the end-of-season EFL awards, picking up a nomination in the Player and Young Player of the Season category for Sky Bet League One.
