The Vertu Trophy proved to be an ideal platform for the highly-rated talent to showcase his ability, scoring a perfect hat-trick against Aston Villa Under-21s towards the end of September – a sign of things to come.

“At first, it was quite difficult being away from family, loved ones and friends,” he confesses. “I’d never moved out of East London before, so I had to get used to a new area, as well as a new set of teammates.

“The Club has supported me massively. They helped me to find a place locally, so I’m not too far away from the training ground, and my teammates, the staff and the Manager have all looked out for me.

“I knew that by signing for Peterborough, I would be given opportunities, whether it was straight away or if I just needed to be a bit patient. It was difficult being in and out of the squad and playing for the Under-21s, but it was about being ready to take the chance when it came.

“I knew that hat-trick in the Vertu Trophy would be massive for me. It got me back in the squad and on the bench and, luckily, I was able to kick on from there. Now, I would say I’ve cemented my place, and I’ve just been enjoying my football.”

Lisbie’s eventual breakthrough in the league coincided with the appointment of Manager Luke Williams.

The former Swansea City boss immediately entrusted him with a starting berth as Posh hosted AFC Wimbledon – who entered the game that day occupying a Play-Off position.

The talented forward duly repaid that show of faith in abundance, getting on the scoresheet in a 5-0 victory, before a resurgent Peterborough then knocked Stockport County off top spot, with Lisbie adding another to his tally.

Since then, he’s been ever-present in the starting lineup.
