Grassroots football teams across the country have the chance to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience as the Jameson x EFL Ultimate Matchday returns for a second season.

Following its debut last season, Jameson and the EFL are once again offering one amateur team the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of their footballing heroes and experience a professional-style matchday alongside their grassroots teammates.

Former EFL midfielder Steve Sidwell is set to lead the line once more after lacing up his boots to play for inaugural winners Mercia United in November 2025.

This time, however, he will be joined by former Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ipswich Town and Republic of Ireland manager Mick McCarthy, who will return to the dugout for one game only.

Sky Sports, the home of EFL football, will also be on hand for the occasion, with presenter David Prutton joined by fellow former players-turned-pundits Jobi McAnuff and Luke Chambers to provide live reaction to the key moments from the match and speak to standout performers on the day.

The winning team will be decked out in brand-new PUMA kits, while their pitch will be transformed with Jameson branding across corner flags, ball plinths and interview boards.

EFL match officials will also be provided to help create a truly authentic matchday experience.

To top it all off, the victorious side will receive access to their local EFL club's training ground, giving players the chance to experience what the professionals do on a daily basis, as well as a year's supply of Jameson Ginger & Lime cans for the squad.
