Five pupils from Whetstone Field Primary School were given a unique insight into life at Walsall FC as part of the Club’s Black History Month activity.

The group visited the Saddlers’ training ground on Thursday 15 October, where they watched the first-team squad prepare for upcoming fixtures and met players and Head Coach Lee Grant.

As part of the visit, the pupils also took part in a special discussion with Roman Dixon and Tai Sodje, putting questions to the pair around Black History Month and hearing about their experiences, including conversations around racism.

The activity formed part of Walsall’s wider Black History Month programme ahead of the Club’s fixture against Salford City on Monday 26 October.

It also linked with the EFL’s Together Against Racism campaign, which brings together Clubs, players, supporters and communities across the League to challenge racism and promote inclusion throughout football.

The pupils’ visit will feature on ITV’s EFL Highlights Show on Saturday 24 October, two days before the Saddlers host Salford City.
