cheapcuts are Jonny Harris and Jack Leonard, a duo whose music reimagines the energy of Big Beat and ’90s rave culture for a new generation.

Their debut release ‘Check Your Phone’ featuring Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz hit the US Top 30 Billboard Alternative Charts in 2020.

The duo’s latest release, ‘Business’, featuring former Audio Bullys frontman Franksy, is a swaggering electronic cut.

Bringing together the attitude of classic UK electronic music with a contemporary club edge, the track was picked to be part of the official soundtrack for EA SPORTS FC 27.

Alongside being a GRAMMY and BRIT award-winning producer and songwriter, Jonny (pictured above left) is a supporter of Premier League champions Arsenal.

He will be backing his side to reach the final eight of the Carabao Cup when they travel to face EFL League Two side Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium tonight.

How did you become an Arsenal fan?

Geography did a lot of the heavy lifting. I lived nearby and supporting anyone else felt unnecessarily confrontational.

There was an early complication: I accepted a Crystal Palace scarf when I was seven, which apparently committed me for life.

I’m hoping they’ll accept that I wasn’t old enough to understand the terms.

What are your earliest memories of watching the club?

On the telly at my oldest friend Ed’s place (still good friends now!) I couldn’t give you a detailed account of any of those matches, though.

We played football on the concrete playground at school inspired by it all.

Later on, I remember most of them being preceded by a heated negotiation over whether the telly was for football or GoldenEye on the N64.

Who were your Arsenal heroes growing up?

This is where I should confidently name a back four…. I can’t! But watching Arsenal in the Arsene Wenger days and Thierry Henry almost had some kind of future teleporting vision of what was coming next - he anticipated moves like chess.

What’s your favourite Arsenal memory?

Michael Thomas scoring against Liverpool in 1989 in the final of the First Division.

I couldn’t give you a detailed account of the match now, but I remember that second goal and everyone going bonkers.

The finer details have faded. My girlfriend is a Liverpool fan, so that’s still quite satisfying.

Now that I’m somewhat out of the loop, there’s still something brilliant about the atmosphere around here on match days.

You can go out for some milk and come back emotionally invested in a result you hadn’t realised was happening.

I love the vibe though: the food trucks, the rabble, the coming together of it all

Do you get to many matches?

Not really, but living nearby means I notice the pubs suddenly get rammed.

A once clear path to the bar completely ruined, traffic at a standstill and a deep emotional aftermath. A sort of subscription without a seat, I suppose.

How do you see the Fourth Round tie against Fleetwood going?

I’m assuming a comfortable Arsenal win.

Although I work in music, so I’m professionally obliged to respect anyone capable of producing an unexpected hit.

How much of a statement would lifting the Carabao Cup be?

It would be fantastic. After winning the Premier League last season, adding the Carabao Cup would keep the momentum going.

Winning is a habit worth encouraging, and those celebrations are what it’s all about.
