Lincoln City have been eliminated from 15 of their last 16 EFL Cup ties against top-flight opposition, beating Sheffield United on penalties in the 2023-24 second round in the other.
Bournemouth have lost each of their last three EFL Cup matches; only from August 1980 to August 1982 (4) and September 2005 to August 2010 (6) have they ever lost more in a row in the competition.
In his managerial career, Bournemouth’s Marco Rose has taken charge of 20 cup matches against lower league opponents across spells with FC Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig, winning 19 of those. The exception was a 2-1 defeat to second-tier FC St. Pauli with Dortmund in the 2021-22 DFB Pokal last 16.
